3D Tongs Rendering
On this little render, I was given an orthographic reference image of a BBQ tongs. The client wanted a highly detailed rendering of a stainless steel tongs. I developed this copying splines along the length of the tongs. I then used a loft NURB to create the shape, and then converted to polygons and added a smoothProxy. To create the lighting on this scene, I used surface shaders. After applying a simple procedural map to replicate a stainless steel material, I did a rendering in Mental Ray inside Maya.
Valley of the Kings
The objective was to make a flyby rendering of a monumental sight. I chose the Valley of the Kings tombs. There's something about photorealism and 3D that really makes me excited. My main objective was to create something such as that. I created this strictly with 3DS Max, rendered in Mental Ray, loaded the sequence into After Effects, exported into 1080p. It was a lot of fun finding reference images. Perhaps some day I'll be able to visit this place.
Ski Utah (E-Commerce Commercial)
On the subject for this piece, it was an e-commerce video used to promote tourism (skiing in particular) to Utah. It was a fun project overall, working mainly between Photoshop and After Effects. The final export was done in 720p for good clarity. The images and video are high enough resolution to be exported in 1080p for HD broadcast if need be. The outro was done using a blank white layer using a 'CC_Particle World' effect to emulate snowfall fading in and out.
Jimmy Fallon Late Night (Introduction)
In many of the late night shows, and in TV broadcast in general, 3D animations are developed and often layered on-top of other video. For this video I wanted to that in a way, so I created a 3D environment animation clip with the camera easing up into the building where the Fallon show would take place. I created this in an Audio and Video editting course.
